Labour of love!

Had this idea that I could make a special book for a very special little person. As usual I left it far too late so it was mad. God knows how many hours I spent stretching into the nights and early mornings but it was such fun and totally absorbing! Paper paper everywhere, glue, scissors, magazines, wrapping paper, card completely covered every surface, but what joy to create these different scenes. Well you can judge for yourselves now..........

Christmas tree shopping in Homebase....not to be recommended

The tacky fibre optic tree died last year and so after a lot of humming and aahing decided to get another artificial one to replace it. Thought this would be simple but.......all the trees on display that I liked were out of stock. The ones in boxes were not the ones you could see. The ones with lights built in were just a tangle of wires and the fibre optic ones only seemed to have green or blue lights. One and a half hours later after going to the Help desk many times I made an impulsive decision to get a light 'spring green one', which actually was in stock but took an age to find. I think you either love it or hate it but I think it has a certain style. Today with the help of three lovely children we decorated it  and put on the new coloured round bulb lights. That childhood magic again..........

Christmas is coming

Finally decorated the cafe last night. Jumping Jacks in the window causing a stir, chunky crocheted stockings over the fireplace with the knitted puppies snuggling inside, fabric merry christmas letters hanging over the counter and a little magic created by  baubles suspended on invisible thread! Its all looking Christmassy now.........

changing faces

After a lot of contemplation I decided to change the faces on all the puppets to photos. Father Christmas had a George Clooney face for a while and now has a sheepdog hairy face, and the ballerina went to having a doll's face but I decided it was too scary and since it is not a Halloween decoration had to think again. Alphonse Mucha sprang to mind so here now is the result. I  am so happy that this is now completely finished and I can get on with other things which are piling up! Looking forward to hanging them in the cafe window and the effect of pulling the strings when people pass by.....hope they are tough enough

Jumping J

Fun at the cafe today.
Tiny little christmas stockings and tiny little teddies. Great to see so many creative people and it was so inspiring.
This weeks obsession are the jumping jacks......tomorrow they will be in Olivers Village cafe window....
