Old Collage Rediscovered and Framed

After a visit to Brighton a few years ago, found an old bit of MDF and used bits cut out from magazines and wrapping paper. This was a real 'one off'. Feel inspired now to do some more collage....its been a while.

It has been far too long since I blogged.....2 years!
Been rediscovering creating little things with paper and scribbly pen drawings and making little worlds. Thought this could be a new style of putting out posts for my Mini Beat Music sessions and its actually so enjoyable. Anything goes.

Craft Fair fast approaching............

Once again there is a deadline so in just over two weeks time, I am having a stall, of things I haven't made yet, at the St Dominic's Craft Fair on 13th June. Getting started was the hardest thing but now this little dog has been made, the ideas are spinning. What a mess I make as I go into battle, the place looks like it's been burgled, but there is nothing like the feeling of creating a little character like this one. Parting might be difficult :(

The trouble with a craft fair......

Is bringing back home all the things you hoped to sell :(

But on the plus side the cards went down well :)

well this seems to be the new obsession

Went to a friend's house in the country, helped her to clear out her workroom, found some macrame stuff and a book and then started trying to do these crochet owl wall hangings. Quite a challenge but I was determined........wondering how these could be developed ......another reason for insomnia !

Had a really great Saturday with a shared stall at the Belsize Green Fair, and then later performing some music from our CD 'The Rainforest and You'. Take a look at some of our handmade creations, cards and crocheted blankets. Made me realise that it would be lovely to have a stall somewhere maybe once a month. Have started making more and more and more things for future fairs

....we've only just begun!

it's been a loooooong time.............

.......I will be having a stall of things, (I haven't yet made), at The Green Fair, on Saturday 27th September outside Budgens Belsize Park NW3. 

Oyster card holders, bags, quirky toys and all sorts. 

Better get sewing.......... :)

Ripple randomness

Started off as an experiment, using odds and ends of blues and greens and neutrals, blended with black......quite liked the effect and so it was on its way to being a lovely long and wide winter scarf, then a 'snood' was suggested and then today just wrapped it over an extremely dull cushion and Hey Presto, a cushion it was meant to be. Very happy with this effect so this may be the new way forward to that stall, shop, table top, making a million......definitely fun to do and enjoy the randomness, and the recyclability element. Just need to work out how to sew it together. Already had my first commission for three!!! I'm happy!

Well it started off with making little fabric eggs.........

What are they they asked

Eggs I replied

Why are you making them they asked

Because its Easter I replied

But what is the point of them?......

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......indeed....not much point really

Well they could hang on a little Easter Tree I suppose....

Lets think again.....

Maybe the shape could be adapted to a Humpty Dumpty character

not quite there yet interesting shape though so lets try again......
